Ledger, a well-known manufacturer of hardware cryptocurrencies, has warned its users about fraudulent emails that are distributed on behalf of the company. These emails contain false information about a "data leak" and require users to enter their seed phrases on a fake site.
Scammers create a copy of the Ledger website in order to lure users out of their confidential data. Ledger reminded its customers that the company never requests 24-word recovery phrases.
Experts warn of an increase in the activity of such attacks ahead of the holiday season, when the number of online transactions increases. Users are advised to be especially careful and verify the authenticity of the emails they receive.
