Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba said that the government of the country is not ready to express a position on the creation of a strategic reserve of bitcoin. The comment was made in response to a question from Satoshi Hamada, a member of the House of Councilors, who suggested that Japan follow the example of the United States and consider including cryptocurrencies in its reserves.

Isiba stressed that the government does not have sufficient information about international initiatives in this area, especially in relation to the United States. In addition, he noted that cryptocurrencies do not yet fall under the categories used for government reserves.

This comment has sparked discussions among the crypto community, given the growing number of countries considering bitcoin as a strategic asset.
