Saudi Arabia has announced massive investments of $14.9 billion in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud technologies and advanced digital solutions. The statement was made during the LEAP 2025 technology conference in Riyadh, where Minister of Digital Technology Abdullah bin Amer Al-Swaha stressed the importance of cooperation with the world's largest technology companies.
Key partners of the initiative include Google Cloud, Lenovo, Alibaba Cloud, Qualcomm, Groq and Salesforce. As part of the project, Saudi Arabia plans to create a regional AI center that will help accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies in industry, finance and logistics.
In addition to cloud services, investments are also aimed at the development of AI-oriented manufacturing and robotic technologies. For example, manufacturing giant Alat, together with Lenovo, is allocating $2 billion for the construction of a high-tech manufacturing center in Riyadh, and Groq has already signed a $1.5 billion agreement to create cloud-based AI solutions.
This initiative reflects Saudi Arabia's long-term strategy to diversify its economy within the framework of Vision 2030, aimed at reducing dependence on oil and developing innovative industries.
